Terms of sale for checkout
What happens when a shopper pays Machina+ at checkout for goods a store fulfils.
Why we need it
Checkout through Machina+ makes us the payment taker but not the seller. The shopper must know who sold them the item, who delivers it and who answers for it.
What it must cover
- 01Who the seller is on each order
- 02Order acceptance window and what happens if the store declines
- 03Payment, pricing errors and VAT on the receipt
- 04Delivery, collection and courier options and who pays the fee
- 05Cancellation before dispatch
- 06Link out purchases are governed by the store’s own terms
Rules it answers to
- Consumer Protection Law, Law No. 35 of 2012, and its executive regulations
- Electronic Transactions Law, Legislative Decree No. 54 of 2018
- VAT Law, Decree Law No. 48 of 2018, and the National Bureau for Revenue guides
Still open
- VAT treatment of platform orders and who issues the tax invoice
- Whether Machina+ holds funds long enough to need a CBB view
